  • I was expecting a fairly average looking lobby, but I was impressed at the contemporary look of the lobby. While it seemed to be very busy, all looked brand new and orderly. Some of the furniture were large pieces, not overstuffed, just large which made some of the space a little awkward for larger crowds to wait. It was nice at night, because you could purchase a drink at the hibachi-looking tile bar and sit in a comfy chair and unwind. The staff was friendly and very professionally groomed - I love that. They were their to serve the customer and not just hang-out with friends at the counter. The check-in process was fast and efficient, they teamed up so that the message from one rep was heard by all at the counter. Within 10 minutes, checked-in, paid, got the low down (volunteered information, I did not solicit it) of the restaurants nearby and Hilton Honor reward opportunities with some of them. Took the room key/info and headed to my room. The halls smelled as if they just cleaned...I mean just cleaned. Stung the nostrils a bit :) I easily found the room but to my disappointment the gentleman rep did not program the room key. I tried 3 times and no flashy green light. Down the elevator this weary traveler went. As I approached the side of the counter, I could see he was helping another customer and was about to patiently settle in to wait when he saw me out of the corner of his eye. He immediately excused himself from the current customer and asked me what was wrong (in a concerned and sincere manner). I informed him my key wasn't working. Immediately he and the other rep began apologizing - reprogrammed my key and gave me a $5 coupon to the hotel bar or the restaurant next door. The sincerity was nice and the fact I didn't have to wait for them to correct the situation. Got into the room - quiet, clean, clean-smelling once again. I was settling in when about 20 min later, my room phone rang. It was the rep from the desk asking if everything was satisfactory with the room and apologizing again for the room key mishap. :) The only part of the room experience that was meh, was one of the glasses in the bathrooom had something on the bottom of it. Luckily the other was clean. Oh, and the tissues...it must be just my luck (hotel or office really). After using about 5 tissues, the warning orange tissues start to appear...the box is almost empty, this always happens to me. For some reason I always panic for a split second. Because of the quick stay, I don't require housekeeping and leave the Do Not Disturb sign out. That night, there was a note under my door stating they respected my privacy, but if I needed anything I should just call...no problem. I am wondering if people leave the signs out and forget. Anyway, nice to know they stopped by. Check-Out no problems. Speedy check-out because the under-the-door bill was correct! If I return, I will definitely stay here again.
