| - I probably would be more inclined to give the Saguaro a 4.5/5 stars, but my choices are a 4 or a 5, and I am happy to give this hotel a 5.
The only deduction for half a star is the layout of this hotel. It's like an older motel or condominium complex was converted into a hotel. And it is a quirky hipster hotel. Bright colors, old antique cameras and typewriters, and sugar skulls on the wall of the restaurant. Bikes availble for borrowing to explore the town.
The beds and bathrooms are average, but the service is fantastic, and the accoutrement in the rooms are fun and helpful, including the humorous "guide" in each room. The restaurant is great, the pool is luxury level, and there is a fun atmosphere everywhere here.
All properties live or die on location, location, location, and this one is no exception. Being able to walk out the back of the hotel and into the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, right across from the Performing Arts Center, and next to the art galleries, museums, and restaurants and bars of the area.
