Have always been happy with liquor and beer selections. My only issue is their keg business. I kind of feel like their beer lady shoots from the hip on prices. They supposedly price match, but not with NC competition. Example is NoDa Hop Drop n Roll. Total wine sells for $99 and my wife (not knowing any better) paid $129 at Souther Spirits when she bought my kegerator last year for my birthday.
Additionally, Total Wine charges $72-74 range for OMB Copper. I asked how much at Southern Spirits and was told $99. When I mentioned to her that it was $72 at Total Wine, I got the "it's a different State and $72 doesn't cover her cost." Meanwhile, Stateline Elite across the street is the same $72 as Total Wine.
At any rate, I'm good with Southern Spirits for everyday beer and liquor. Even their wine selection is solid and the staff is knowledgeable. However, when it comes to kegs, proceed with caution. They are over priced on kegs.
