| - The wife and I have been using Foothills Car Wash off and on for nearly 20 years. We never had a problem with the wash jobs or the customer service until now.
This place is now simply horrible. Do not do business with Foothills Car Wash.
Sitting in the waiting area when a worker came in to get another car owner. The owner came back and told the cashier the worker was rude. It turns out the worker was miffed because he thought the owner had taken the key with him into the waiting area. The car was a late model with a push-button, key-less ignition, and all the worker had to do was push the button to start the car. So then came my turn.
I paid extra for the floor mats to be removed from my truck, washed, dried, and replaced. The same rude worker did not remove the mats. He sprayed the mats with a chemical that smelled like bathroom cleaner, and rubbed them with a sponge. The spray got on the surrounding carpet, the kick panels, and the bottoms of my leather seats. The mats were not clean, and the inside of the car smelled strongly of bathroom cleaner. I went back inside to complain, and a supervisor rudely told me that was how they cleaned floor mats. When I asked when they stopped taking the mats out of the car and actually cleaning them he didn't answer. I asked for my money back for cleaning the mats, and he said no. My response was that I would not pay for such poor quality work, and would not leave until they returned my money. He very rudely told the cashier to return the money for the mats, and stomped off.
I went to get in my truck, and the rude worker was now extremely rude. He would not bring the keys so I had to get out of the truck and get the keys from him. I pointed out the mats were still dirty, and he angrily started spraying more bathroom cleaner onto the mat next to my feet. I told him to stop, and he turned and tried to close the door on me, but I caught it in time so it did not hit my leg.
The bathroom cleaner burned my throat and eyes, hence the necessity to rinse it off with a water hose (which as I said, they did not do). As a result I had to drive home with the windows down in 110 degree heat.
What was a good, dependable car wash is now just the opposite.
In retrospect I wondered when I got there why they weren't busy on a sunny day before the weekend. There was no line, and only two or three cars being washed when I arrived. Now I know. They are systematically running off their business with shoddy work, and poor customer service.
