| - Went in on a late Thursday evening and it wasn't too busy. The crowd actually started to come in around 9:30pm as we were finishing up. Staff was friendly and fairly attentive.
We ordered pad Thai, shrimp fried rice, garlic and pepper chicken, and the Crying Tiger for dinner. The shrimp in the pad Thai and fried rice were huge and had a good serving in each dish. The pad Thai was delicious! The sauce had so much flavor - you could really taste the tamarind, fish sauce, limes, etc. and they put plenty of it on the noodles so they weren't dry. Definitely a must order! The fried rice was authentic Thai style fried rice and packed so much flavor in such a simple dish. The garlic and pepper chicken was the favorite dish of the night. The sauce on it looked so simple yet the flavors were so complex. It had the sweet, the salty, a bit of spice and tang. I would eat just that sauce with a bowl of rice and be satisfied. The Crying Tiger was our let down. It's a rib eye with a kind of spicy vinegar dipping sauce. The sauce was good but the steak itself was so chewy and was cold when they brought it out to us. Wouldn't order it again.
We also ordered a sweet roti and mango with sticky rice for dessert. The roti was perfect with a crispy exterior and soft, fluffy interior and was sweetened with just enough condensed milk. The mango and sticky rice was also good. The mango was ripe but had just a touch of tartness which matched well with the sweetened sticky rice.
Overall, most of the meal was spectacular and we will be back again, for sure.
