I must say that I was very disappointed with today's purchase. This was my second visit after several months and was hoping to get the same experience as last time....well that did not happen. I walked into the tiny shop and find only two desserts available to choose from; one chocolate and one strawberry. The rest of the display was completely empty. I asked the if that's all they had and the girl behind the counter said yes because they had a busy day....that I find very hard to believe. I asked her if the desserts were freshly made today, she didn't know and headed to the back to ask. She comes back and says that they were made yesterday but the freezers keep them fresh. What a crock.
I bought one of each anyway because my wife and I were craving sweets. The price? $7,25 each for day-old desserts. I couldn't believe it, they even jacked up the prices from the last time I was there. Will I go back there again? Based on the reviews that I've read from over 6 months ago and what happened today, probably not. Even though this store is by my place, I would rather drive 20 min to Yann Patisserie at 4th Street and 23rd Ave who has 3 things that Ohh la la does not have. Better prices, selection and tastier desserts. Oh, plus they accept AMEX where Ohh la la does not. I have been to Yann several times and have never been disappointed.
I also forgot to mention that the croissants Ohh la la had were around $2.95 and looked small and burnt...just terrible looking!
