I wasn't too impressed by my first experience here. Maybe it's because I'm from San Francisco where there's endless yoga/fitness studios. I almost got lost finding the front desk as not of all of their studios are located next to each other. In fact, I had to go outside and walk up the stairs to another building. The front desk wasn't so warm and welcoming. They had me sign up for an online account and had me walk back downstairs to the studios and check in with the instructor at the door.
The place had a "crossfit" kind of feel. Black floors with mirrors everywhere. You could tell that the studio is showing signs of wear and tare. With the multiple classes offered throughout the day, it feels as though it's a big "warehouse" that churns members. I was 10 minutes early and already my class was filling up quick. There are plenty of weights to accommodate everyone. There were two dimmed bathrooms and cubbies outside to place your belongings, but no lockers. I took a Saturday afternoon hot sculpt class, which was a great supplement to my usual gym routine. My instructor lacked enthusiasm and at times I had trouble seeing her as she was demonstrating moves. The workout was challenging enough to make you sore, but not die. You're constantly repeating the same move for a given amount of time before you move onto the next. They usually target your major muscle groups. My class mainly targeted abs, core and arms with a brief warm up and cool down.
Another thing to note is that they're big on tipping instructors. Perhaps it's to offset their lower membership costs.
