| - I really wish I could give this office a good review. I had an emergency with my son that required him to see a specialist. My son's pediatrican's office called around to see who would be able to get him in to a doctor ASAP. Az Pediatric Eye Specialist said they could get him in for an appointment at 11:15.
Once arriving at the office, that was packed with parents and children, the lady who was working the front desk was less than helpful. I had to make unnecessary phone calls because she didn't seem to know what she was doing. After waiting for about 30 minutes I polietly asked how long the wait would be. I was rudely informed that, they were doing me a favor by fitting my son in on short notice, so there would be some bit of a wait.
I proceeded to wait with my mom and son in the waiting room for 2.5 hours, along with many other parents and their children, who had also been waiting hours upon hours, even with appointments. For a pediartic eye doctors office, the place was filthy, a couple of little boys were crawing on the floor in tan colored pants, when they were finished their pant legs were BLACK! I was so grossed out. I'm pretty sure they never clean the waiting room. Not to mention stained chairs and a disgusting bathroom. It was most definely not a kid friendly office or staff.
after waiting for 2.5 hours I had to return to work, so my mom stayed with my son and continued to wait. Once they were put into a room (after already waiting over 3 hours), the doctor finely was able to "fit" my son into his schedule/ The Dr. proceeded to tell my mom that next time he would prefer that the childs (my son) mother make it to the appointment. My mom informed him that I had been waiting for 2.5 hours in the waiting room but as a single mother, needed to return to work. He proceeded to make excuse after excuse for how busy they are and that we were lucky to even get my son in without an appointment, and that he hadn;t even had lunch yet.
The doctor tried to rush the appointment by quickly looking at my son's eye and saying was simply "just" an infection, possibly pink eye. My mom had to point out what my consurns were since he was just trying to rush along the visit. (probably so he could get lunch). My mom was then told by the doctor that he won't be doing a full exam and that I would need to bring my son back in a month, because he didnt want to contaminate his equipment . Since they are so busy, he said he wouldnt have time to clean it. ummm what? shouldn't they make sure that all the equipment is clean after each patient?
needless to say, dispite their quick efforts to get us seen on a Friday before the weekend. There are just too many things that I found completely unexceptable with this office and the way they conduct business. the underhanded comments were compleley unprofessional, and I would not willing scheulde and appointment with this office knowing that the wait could exceed 3 hours or more.
I definely wont be bringing my son here for the follow up that they requested he have.
