| - When your Bro calls and says, "I have 2 tickets to go to Life is Beautiful festival and you don't have to pay, all you have to do is get here." You say, "YES"
I didn't know what to expect other than I had to book my plane tickets, hotel room, car rental, and ask for time off.
This is a three day festival packed with all types of music, art, and food. All of which I am happy to explore and find out more about. The festival covers 15 blocks of old downtown. This is it's third year running. They have so much stuff going on at one time that it is hard to cover it all in one day. You should do minimum two days and wear comfortable shoes.
The good:
* Every night many different types of bands to chose from (Stevie Wonders, Duran Duran, to Pointer Robinson.)
* The mood was ultra chill and friendly
* Lots of food trucks and stall (you can never get hungry)
* Adult drinks/ and non adult were accessible all over
* Talking to strangers is fun
* Going in and out of the festival with just a beep of your wrist band
* The art is all over from the walls of the buildings to people dressed up.
* Large open space
* The secret garden the perfect place to lie down on the grass and relax
* Getting your exercise without even knowing it
* Chill room with air-conditioning is great place to hangout
* It never felt that their were too many people
* All ages were in attendance, I didn't feel old
* Lots of swag (silk screen bags, scarf, make up, binky bracelets, and samples of 7up just to name a few)
* It felt safe with lots of security watching about
* Getting Uber or Lyft to come and get you at the end of the night is awesome
* Getting up the next day to do it all over again (priceless)
The bad:
* Nothing! it was lots of fun
The Ugly:
* 103 on most days
* Portable toilets are gross
I got to enjoy the life is Beautiful for a few days. I loved being able to float from one area to another and listen to all types of music. Some of the music is main stream and some of it was stuff I've never heard of. I am looking into purchasing ticket for next year already.
