Stay away from this veterinarian - I took healthy pug puppy into his office for shots that they said she needed and she died 11 days later. I had to spend hundreds of dollars at animal hospital over the weekend trying to keep her alive and finally took her to his office the following Monday morning where he admitted to me and my fiancé that she had gotten sick from the shots which were a booster shot along with a rabies shot and he then told us that he has only seen this happen 2-3 times in the years he has had his office. He then suggested she stay at his office for him to do some tests on her one which was a CSF test that would determine if she had encephalitis from the shots - we agreed. He also told us that she was not going to make it much longer like maybe a few weeks at best. The following morning he called to say that when he tried to do the test he could not get the any fluid out of area and that her brain started to flip flop in her head and she stopped breathing - he gave her something to start her heart again but she was not really breathing on her own. He wanted to put her to sleep - so I called my mom who I had been watching Molly for for the last 4 months of her 7 month life. She consented and Molly was gone. The thing is that they never told us of any possibility of problems when they vaccinated her - and after the girl in the front office told me that they don't give the booster shot with the rabies to toy breeds - usually Chihuahuas and Pomeranians. Molly was 13 pounds and so they just gave them to her - if they had let us know this was even a possibility we would never had taken the risk. And to add to my injury they didn't bill me for 3 months or until 2 weeks before Christmas so I assumed that was their way of compensating for our loss until they called with bill of over $700 for a test he could not complete and to put a dog to sleep that had already quit breathing on her own. I already spent $600 over the weekend at animal hospital that weekend. I miss this little girl every day - she had won my heart in ways I didn't know until she was gone. How is it that I tried to do what they recommended she needed and now she is gone- plus she was a gift to my mother last Christmas and now my mom is home without the dog she trusted me to take care of. So with this costing me $1300 and my dogs life I cant tell everyone enough to stay away from Warner Val Vista Animal Hospital.
