| - I've been here twice now over this summer, and I'd agree with Susan C. The place is indeed somewhat run down, and the quantity of flies hovering in and around the pies was somewhat sickening. I swallowed the bile this induced, forcing myself to order something for the sheer experience, and found that the server was disinterested and not even that knowledgeable about the Ethiopian roast they served. The lemon meringue she sliced for us was in 4 pieces on the plate, and punctuated by a "oh my god I'm such a klutz here you are!". My friend from the States asked if they could supply the wifi password, and we were told that they didn't have wifi. We proceeded to find the wifi ourself, with the password supplied by one of the other patrons (!).
The pecan pie tasted mealy and not pecan-y enough - having downed a few pecan pies in my day, I do have a rough idea of the appropriate taste and texture, and this was not it. The Americano and regular coffee were okay, and were left half consumed. Our 4 coffees and 2 slices of pie came to twenty dollars, which seemed excessive given the general standards of cleanliness, the whatever tasting food and the terrible service. Sometimes even passable food can be made pleasant with good service and of course, hygiene, but this was not the case here.
