| - First class in the books and I'm so unimpressed with this establishment. It starts off with me trying to call the studio to find out if I need enroll in advance in my first class, or if I can just drop in. Throughout the day, no one answered the phone and the voicemail was full.
When I arrived, no one acknowledged me for about 5 minutes. One of the girls was helping a few people sign up but, given that class started in another few minutes, and I'd never been here before, I wanted to figure out where to go, get set up, etc. After I finally filled out the new-member form on their iPad, I asked if I could go back and finish the sign-up process after class. The girl at the counter said, kind of rudely, that I still had time and could wait.
Another man finished signing me up. Barely gave me the time of day. I got no direction on where to go, what to do, where to put my stuff, etc. They gave me a keychain for my 30 day membership and sent me on my way. Having never been to the studio before and never taken a TRX class before, I went looking for the classroom and walked in with shoes on, where I was immediately asked to take them off, understandably. But I would have liked a little bit more direction and introduction to this place.
Had I been able to reach someone on the phone on one of my many tries, I may have had a better idea about when to arrive, and whether or not to pre-register to save myself time.
I took Marc's TRX class tonight and it was pretty cool. His instruction was easy to follow and I really like the class itself. I was a little too close for comfort to my "neighbor" in class.
I have 29 more days of this trial, so I'm going to try TRX a few more times and check out some of the yoga classes, then I'll update this review. As of now, I'm generally disappointed in this place as it seems like a "fitness factory" with little staff interaction and guidance.
