| - I was torn between a 3 and a 4-star review. I've only gone there once, because Nielsen's custard flavor didn't hit the spot last time and we were on a hunt to find something different. So, we drove down the road and found Mr. D's.
OK, first of all, vanilla custard was really good on its own. I could eat it by itself and enjoy it.
What I didn't like was the toppings - I got a mango sundae with mango slices and pecans on top, and the toppings either didn't make a good combo or weren't of the best quality. I don't know, but I wasn't too crazy about them.
My boyfriend had his vanilla custard mixed in with toppings (I don't remember - Reeses?) it was a generous serving, and very well mixed in, but seemed a bit overloaded...
They have a small seating area on the outside, and no indoor seating. But they also have a drive-through, which is a plus!
I would like to go there again to try out something else.
The reason for four stars is because they opened up a little early (we got there before they officially opened), because the lady serving custard was pleasant, because there is a Trader Joe's in the same shopping center, and because I really did like the plain vanilla custard.
