| - I've always had a soft spot for Penn and Teller, having watched some of their acts on TV whenever I could, watching Bullshit, even uh, being aware that Desert Bus exists and is a thing they put their name to.
But this was a weird show.
The magic was good. I'm no magic aficionado, but it was good. I was fooled, I was amazed, I was left in a perplexed state because goddamn, how the hell did they do that right in front of me? That part was fine. They're still amazing showmen and well, they're obviously veterans.
The weird thing was that it got incredibly political, which I should have seen coming after watching the later seasons of Bullshit, but yeah, I was not really expecting a whole spiel on the Bill of Rights. I probably would have minded it less except that whenever they went on a Libertarian rant, the show suffered a bit as a result. I didn't come in expecting Penn and Teller, political pundits, I came in expecting Penn and Teller, awesome magicians, and they only met my expectations about 75% of the way.
One great touch was that they went outside after the show to take photos with audience members, which was an incredibly cool and awesome thing to do.
