| - This is...a Jamba Juice, but a little more. Generally, unless completely out of options, I avoid chains. Obviuosly a Rachel's devotee, but several factors make me return to this location:
1) it is right in front of my Dentist's office & high me (have major post accident reconstruction and am a big baby who needs to be sedated) likes White Gummy Bear horrible for me smoothie (from * not * so secret menu) Junkies crave sweets, so there is some type of correlation I guess. Otherwise, the fresh unsweetened juices are a tasty and healthy option.
B) Misti enlightened that they have REALLY good oatmeal. In a pinch, when I've forgotten to allow my steel cut oats to soak up almond milk overnight = voila = one of my favorite breakfast foods.
C) There is an adjacent Coffee Bean/Tea Leaf and quite a nice patio to relax, work etc. Also, for those of us who travel around town on appointments, it is a good place to stop, regroup or prepare for your next adventure. The Lakes is centrally located to destinations N, S, E & W.
4) The staff is always very friendly: in fact, when I went to order my "High Smoothie" the guy laughed and said "yeah, I remember you only order smoothies when you come in after the dentist. Otherwise, oatmeal or straight juice." Impressive. Also super cool when your Mom takes half their copies of Desert Companion because you have a blurb in it and she is your DD.
So, when in the area and high or craving delicious oatmeal or good juice with solid service this is an option I'd consider.
