| - I can't even express how much we enjoyed our staycation here. Everyone went above and beyond in making this a special time for us.
First of all, the Fun Ambassadors of the Kid's Club Pajama Party really knows how to keep the kids entertained. They played bingo, had dinner at Nellie Cushman's, made some s'mores and watched a movie. All of that is $50 or waived if you are a Starwood Preferred member and if you eat at their restaurant, deseo (with receipt). Make a reservation ahead of time because it is limited to a certain number of kids. My little cutie pie enjoyed it very much. Thank you, girls!
The front desk was also very helpful and friendly. Westin La Paloma should take note here...seriously jot down how exemplary customer service should be and study it. I asked for a late check out because I wanted to treat my boys to lunch there, without batting an eyelash, the customer rep graciously gave me a couple more hours. Oh, I wish I remember the girl who checked me in and reinstated an expired four year old gift card I received from my sister!
Every evening, the Sweet Shoppe dessert bar is set up in the lobby for a tempting display. We did not have any...we were good.
As for the pool, there is an adult only for those who want some peace and quiet. The lagoon beach entry pool wrapped around the side of the hotel. The slide and lazy river added more fun ways to cool off. J. Swillings pool side cafe's pina colada smoothie, bloody mary, prickly pear margarita was all wonderful. They also serve snacks, sandwiches and salads. The attendants go around picking up used towels and keep the swim area uncluttered and picked up. Pitchers of ice water all around is also a nice touch.
Coffee Flats in the lobby area are great for a quick pastry breakfast. Little cutie pie had milk and a glazed donut. Cafe latte and blueberry muffin for hubby. Banana nut muffin and a white choco mocha satisfied my cravings. We brought all of that to eat by the pool. We didn't feel like a brunch buffet this time, but heard was very good.
I so wanted to try the spa, but ran out of time...there's always the next visit.
We had a fantastic time!
