  • SERVER: Our waitress CJ was THE BEST and made ALL the difference in our experience here!! She is very knowledgeable of the food they serve & was spot on with her suggestions. Although she was busy, she was very warm, friendly and attentive. FOOD: Eggs Benedict (as CJ said) was yummy! I ordered the Western fruit plate / platter that usually comes with banana bread & marshmallow cream sauce which 1) I did not want and 2) they did not have, so CJ asked if I wanted a muffin or something in lieu. Of my choices, I chose the lemon muffin which CJ said was really good and it REALLY was! Loved it! The only thing....CJ could have warned me of the large amount of fruit that I had unknowingly ordered. Yikes! But so yummy! ESTABLISHMENT: Came across Peppermill via Yelp, and its old school Vegas charm & good reviews made us pick it as our late breakfast / lunch destination. Haven't been to Vegas for nearly 9 years now, I initially thought the low ceilings, neon lights & crowd made this to be a wrong choice on our part. Even at 2 in the afternoon, it was crowded with a steady stream of people. We were greeted right away, the gal took our name, told us it was about a 20 minute wait and said we could wait in the bar if we'd like. The bar is to the left, separated from the dining area itself. Thank goodness cuz it was a bit too smokey for our taste. Cool bar area though! Just a little to early in the day for us for that atmosphere. (Yes, we're a little older in age. Oh and I'm a former smoker.) We waited in the entry area instead which is kinda small, with slot machines on one wall & a big support beam towards another wall. We waited about 10-15 minutes before being called for our table. Because the hostess called two parties & we both approached the hostess desk, there was a little confusion about who she was taking to be seated. There was a gal walking around offering to take a "complimentary" picture of us, but we declined. She was nice, not pushy, but....no thanks. There was a gal dressed in a long black dress (wait staff, hostess, cashier had uniforms), asking us for any drink orders. Nice & attentive, remembered to check on us. SUMMARY: Cool place to check out. Our waitress made our experience exponentially better. Other staff was nice. Food was yummy. Would we go back again? Probably not. But this review comes from a near 50, partied hard in my younger days but now I'm more into the wine & chill scene, kind of person. Would we suggest people go check it out at least once? Definitely....and ask to sit in CJ's section. ;-)
