| - Hit up Alibi twice on our last trip. Once on a Saturday night (and it was PACKED), and once on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. after we had checked-out on our last day. Two very different experiences.
Saturday Night: as I said, PACKED. No cover, which was a nice touch. But note that it's a minimum $250 charge to get a table or comfortable seat. Given how busy it was, no complaints here, but there weren't any available! And unfortunately, there were no seats available at the bar, or on any of the high-tops either. While we ordered a cocktail each, standing-room only holding a $25 cocktail was a bit offputting, especially as we were being constantly knocked into. Not really what I want in a lounge with those types of amazing drinks (and yes, they were amazing).
Wednesday afternoon: we were the only people in there. There were two staff tending the bar, and another training a new bartender. My wife, having worked in senior management in the lounge/fine dining industry previously for years, noted that they were actually using good food-safe techniques and teaching service to new staff - so that's a plus in my book. Any time they say "and make sure you cut fruit to order" so I can avoid food poisoning from garnish is a plus in my book! I digress...
My wife had a pineapple champagne cocktail. WAY too much pineapple juice to be served with such a beautiful champagne, she did not like it much. I had an amazing "flip-style" cocktail. It was incredible, and the best way to end our Vegas getaway!
Love the vibe in Alibi - doesn't make you feel you're in, essentially, a centre casino bar - but instead delivers the Ultra Lounge name.
