| - Ambience: When I went to Hula's Modern Tiki, the weather was nice out and I loved how the restaurant was open to the outdoors. I could feel the breeze, and it was just good vibes all around. Unfortunately, partway through the meal, some additional guests were placed right next to us, and because the sliding table wasn't set up very well, we ended up bumping elbows a few times, which was a bit awkward. The service was attentive and kind, and the waitress suggested some kind of tea that was absolutely scrumptious.
Food: The samurai beef sticks appetizer was DELICIOUS. A little expensive, but we loved the dipping sauce, and the beef was also well marinated. My s/o got the luau pork plate, and weirdly enough, he said it was the best pulled pork he's had in Arizona. Mushrooms and eggs are my favorite food items in the whole world, so I was beyond ecstatic when I saw the description for the Loco Moco. Unfortunately, I found the burger patty dry and the mushroom gravy excessively goopy, but then again, I've never been to Hawaii. The fried plantains were nothing special, but still very yummy.
