I've lived at Camden South End for almost two years now and there's definitely many pros and cons. I love my apartment and it's location. Very easy to get anywhere in south end as well as uptown. It's very spacious for a one bedroom and I surprising like the open-aired hallways. I feel like it helps block out sounds and makes it stand out from other apartments. Amenities are average. The pool is quieter than others but theres not a lot of chairs so if you don't get there early you're out of luck. The gym, even though recently renovated is nothing special. Management does a good job creating activities for residents such as handing breakfast out to residents on their way to work some days or celebrating cinco with margaritas and nachos. I also love the maintenance staff. They're so friendly and always fix things in a timely manner. I do feel like management doesn't do a good job on follow through. During the new year they offered a free apartment cleaning and I called about it twice to book it and they always said they'd call me back once it was scheduled and never did. The first year I lived here the fire alarms went off probably about every other week, but that has since been fixed. There's also a constant beeping in the electrical closet next to my apartment that they have yet to find a permeant solution for. My biggest complaint was them trying to raise my rent 15%. I talked to other apartment complexes who said their average increase rarely gets above 5%. They did end up lowering it when I confronted them about the raise but trying to get that much more out of residents is not ok. Guest parking is also a problem. They change the policy several times a year saying it's what residents ask for. But the new policy only has about 12 spots for the entire complex and doesn't include game days. Leaves very little options when friends come visit. There's no way that's what guests ask for. Overall I've liked living here, but I'm not sure how long I'll stay.
