How can you not like a craft beer festival?! How can you not like a craft beer festival when sample tickets are a buck?!!?
I arrived around 1pm on Saturday and started right away with some beer samples. I love my Flying Monkey's and discovered a new admiration for Church Key Brewing.
The bands playing were pretty decent too. I especially liked The Clearing and the Jaugernaut. The Clearing played some mellow and chill covers of some popular songs, while Jaugernaut had a sweet sax player who killed it.
The only food I tried was from Gourmet Gringos. I am all about poutine from food trucks but was so torn between fish tacos and the 'tine. I opted for the tacos; figured I try something out of the box. I LOVED THEM. Beer battered fish, coleslaw, cilantro, lime, chipotle sauce and guac (on the side for me!) I'm salivating thinking about them. The brew sample + tacos were out of this world.
My date tried the smoked applewood burger from Smokinstein - he said it was pretty good but wished the onion bun was toasted.
Will I return next year? You betcha!
