| - It's still too early to call Muji a retail success with its first Canadian outpost, but if the fast emptying shelves and the regular deluge of fobby/ESL clientele are any indication, I'd say Muji has found its niche market quite comfortably.
For those unaquainted with the Muji phenomenon, think of a general store stocked with basics of every stripe from clothes to stationary and bedding and much more, so basically, it's basic shit for not so basic bitches.
If you're a fan of vanity sizing beware Muji clothes fit on the smaller side which makes sense being a Japanese chain and all, it's one of the rare times that I myself fit into a size M when I'm typically a North American size XS.
If you're a packaging and small containers freak well, get ready to pop a woody as Muji boasts a selection of bitty containers to fit your creams, salves, beads, ounces of coke, whatever needs containing, Muji's got something to encase it.
One drawback is that stock is outselling demand at a feverish pace so if Muji can manage to get their restocking logistical shit together, it'll eventually become a worthwhile shopping destination for those looking for simply designed general goods that aren't ghetto dollar store quality.
