| - I've been a member since 2011. Until today. Last night I was refused a massage by a new therapist named Jen (after a lovely facial from Kelsey) because she determined incorrectly that I have acute bronchitis. Without asking me any questions about my symptoms treatment or history, ( I have had chronic bronchitis for years) she kept saying I was contraindicated for massage . Embarrassed, highly upset and seriously angry, (I was actually under the sheet and ready to start during this conversation) I dressed and spoke with Schaelee at the front desk who advised me that was what they've been told to say. "You are contraindicated for a massage". Period. She said I needed to speak with Jim, so I emailed him to vent and asked to cancel my membership. He advised me (nicely, as usual-I've had email communications with him in the past) that his therapists are empowered to refuse treatment and that acute respiratory problems are contraindicated by massage. He suggested I continue my membership and use up my multiple credits before cancelling. No apology, nothing. I point out that she misdiagnosed me without merit, that I was extremely uncomfortable going back for any services and ended up cancelling my membership with at least 6 credits on my account. $300 worth. Seriously not a way to maintain good customer relations. But in all fairness, other than the increased exodus of great therapists (Raelle, Deirdre, Michael, Michelle, even Amber who had been there for several years) I've been mostly satisfied over the past 5 years. Such a shame.
