  • I honestly would have never tried Pizza Rock if not for circumstance. We found ourselves wandering around Green Valley Ranch on Thanksgiving looking for a place to eat. Pizza Rock had no wait at all so that's how it was chosen. We were soon greeted by our server. "First time in?" He asked. I nodded. "Great! Welcome in!" he said. I was expecting him to tell us about the menu, recommend items, something along those lines, but he didn't. He left us to review the menu. There were a lot of different menu items. We finally settled on two dishes to share, the garden salad and the tomato pie. The garden salad came out and the portion size was rather disappointing. There wasn't much to it, fresh greens, cherry tomatoes, onions, mozzarella cheese, tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette. The salad itself was fresh and flavorful, it was the portion that was underwhelming despite having ordered the sharing size. The tomato pie came out shortly after and was full of flavor. The tomato pie consisted of Sliced Mozzarella, Tomato Sauce, Garlic, Fresh Basil, extra virgin olive oil and romano. The pizza was perfect, not overly greasy, crispy at the crust. The basil and the garlic complimented each other well. For what it was, it was a bit pricey in my opinion. The salad came in at $11 and the tomato pie came in at $21. The portions were barely enough to feed two people. The good news was we left with room for dessert. I can add this to the list of places I've tried though I don't think I would go back.
