| - UPDATE: We have decided to end our lease with this company- enough is enough!!! Trying to find where/who to send in the 30 day notice to vacate was like searching for Jimmy Hoffa. After emailing 3 times, and putting in requests on the website, I finally had to call the 855-number, and after sitting on hold for 10+ minutes, I finally got someone to answer. I told them I am trying to turn in my 30-day notice and don't know where to send it. (This was 8/1 by the way, my lease doesn't expire until 9/30) Knowing how delayed they've been in the past, I wanted to do this WAY in advance. The lady told me that I had to call our local leasing office and our Property Manager.... but I don't know who that is because seems like it has changed 3x in 4 months. Seems like headquarters (located in Las Vegas, NV) doesn't seem to help with anything at all, they just pass you to someone else.
I finally was able to email the two ladies my 30-day notice, and also mailed it just in case. I got an email 2 days later with a Move Out Checklist (8/4). (We were still getting lease renewal email reminders 4 times a day) since then, I have emailed both of these ladies 3 times (8/5, 8/8 and 8/13) as the paperwork indicated if we'd like to be present for the final walk through, we would need to let them know so it can be scheduled with the "Field Superintendent" (fancy title I'm sure for someone who just looks at the house condition). I DO want to be present during the final walk through, because quite frankly, I do not trust this company, and don't put it passed them to say "Oh there was a hole in the wall in such-in-such room" when there isn't. Pictures, pictures pictures--We're paying a lot of money to clean the house, wood/tile floors, carpeting and yard maintenance, so you better believe I want to be there on top of moving into our newly purchased home at the same time. I'm trying to get this scheduled because i know it is at the end of the month, and I need to know for time off purposes from work. The paperwork says no need to inform our power/water company to turn services off as we won't be responsible for anything passed our lease-end. I'm still going to call the power/water company and formally ensure it is out of our names.
My advice on future move-out renters: Seems harassing them over the phone/email several times gets your request granted. Such a shame because it shouldn't be that difficult (never was with my previous Property Management company). I just feel that because we have been very loyal, diligent, timely tenants, we're being treated like our business/review doesn't matter to them. Get out as soon as your lease is up!!!!! Don't renew!!! Look elsewhere!
