  • I can't explain how much I wanted to love DumplingHaus and I was so excited to try out their new location. I have such a soft spot for dumplings, bar, and noodles and the fact that DumplingHaus offers all of it in one place is enough for my heart to soar. While the place itself has open tables, decent ambiance, and easy ordering from the counter, the food itself just didn't deliver for me. I tried the cold Peanut Glazed Noodles and while it was a good sized portion for $8, there just wasn't enough flavor for me. The noodles were a little overcooked and heavy, and while it was something I could eat with no problem, I just didn't feel like I wanted to keep going. We also ordered the Xiao Long Bao - they came out hot and looked like the perfect pockets of heaven I know them to be. Now, the best/most challenging part of eating XLB is picking them up with your chopsticks without breaking them and delivering it to a spoon successfully, the ones here were a whole new level of difficulty. They really stuck to the dish and more than half of ours broke, no matter how gingerly we picked them up. The meat inside was also a frightening pink color. The taste was fine, nothing phenomenal but I was a little heartbroken over the experience. Overall, I think DumplingHaus has a lot to offer but needs some adjustments to get there. I think I would return just because no other place really offers some of their items readily, but I hope they take a look at some of the reviews and get DumplingHaus to the level of stardom I know it can be!
