  • Sad to write this review, because I like Steve and Zack, but I believe in giving honest reviews. I had McCools pools take over my weekly pool cleaning service when they had just purchased some new accounts. I met Steve and Zack in person before I agreed to hire them, and I explicitly told them I was looking for reliable service. They Told me that they are accountable, consistent, reliable and communicate well with people if there's an issue. The work was done well when they were here, but the first time zack got sick there was nobody at my house to clean the pool as scheduled. They did get to my pool and clean it that week but I was a little concerned that one person being sick caused everything to get screwed up. At any rate they said they were just taking on a lot of new business and so I chalked it up to that and we moved forward. Fast forward to last week and nobody showed up to clean my pool at all. Middle of June, barbecues and swimming, and no show, no call, no service. I waited five days and finally called their company, got a hold of one of the owners named Brian and I had one of the most exasperating, irritating conversations I've ever had the misfortune to experience. First he tried to blame the situation on personal issues for the owners, When I told him I hired a company to clean my pool and not an individual, and that the company needs to live up to its end of the bargain and not give me guilt trips about personal problems. Then he asked how long they been cleaning the pool and I told him three months, it was a 10 minute conversation of me telling him I wanted to cancel the service and him basically refusing to acknowledge that this was happening, I felt like this guy was using every single sales seminar technique he'd ever sat through to make my life a living hell in this 10 minute conversation. Not once he say he was sorry, just guilt trip and smugness. When He told me they had 150 customers and they didn't know how to reroute in order to get to my house and how would I have done it better, I told him he now he has 149 customers and second of all it's not my business to figure out his business. At any rate, I finally got through to him that he was fired, and told him I expected to be reimbursed for the half of the month that I paid for upfront and not received... Even this was something he attempted to screw me on, saying he would see about that. I got a hold of Steve, who 100% apologized for them not showing up, told me it was not an honest mistake and that I would be reimbursed for the 1/2 month. I genuinely like Steve , and I wish him and his partner Zack well, but I think when you consolidate routes and then decide to offer landscaping services before you have the pool services 100% reliable, that's unfair to your customers.
