| - Craft beer+me= happiness so I was stoked to go to this event! I have gone to a similar event, The Big Tap in, multiple times in Boardman,OH, but let me say, this event was MUCH MUCH better! My date and I had the early admission tickets so we were able to get in at 6:30pm as opposed to 7:00pm. It was a good move to do that because it allowed us extra time to check our coats and get a head start on all the regular admission attendees. Also, they had early check in from 3-5pm, which we did and I highly recommend doing in the future, since we didn't have to wait in any line (minus the coat check) and got to start to imbibe right away. I thought having the quickie stations was a good idea-although I would have preferred more non-local breweries having the quickie stations since I'm so familiar with all the local breweries already. Surprisingly, they had a good amount of cider stations (my date's drink of choice since he, admittedly, is more of a wine drinker than a beer drinker) too and I appreciated those so everything I had was not so hoppy (since I am an IPA superfan!) While I did notice a lot of food, including BRGR,Nakama, Rowdy BBQ, and a place with chocolate covered bacon (because bacon makes EVERYTHINHG-including chocolate better!), we dined at Emporio beforehand and were stuffed to the gut already. My suggestion for next Beerfest would be that, well, they make sure the taps don't run out by 9,9:30pm. We actually ended up leaving early because nearly every booth had tapped out. Besides that, I ahd a blast and can't wait for the summer beerfest!
