I have been in Phoenix for a convention and stayed across the street in the Sheraton Hotel. I walked by the Canyon Cafe and thought it looked interesting. Also one of the helpful people in the Orange outfits had recommended it.
I went there twice for Happy Hour and also I had lunch there. Their Happy Hour prices are 1/2 the price of the drinks at the Sheraton.
For lunch I had their chips and salsa. The chips are homemade and have a very unique delicious taste to them. Their salsa is also good, but just a little too spicy for me at lunch. I also couldn't decide which soup I wanted. So the waitress was kind enough to bring me out both soups: Tortilla Soup and the Poblano Chicken Chowder. I liked them both, so I ordered them both. Actually the Tortilla Soup was a little bit spicy. They were both good though. I also ordered the Southwest Caesar Salad. It was good and fresh.
The waitress also brought me out a piece of white chocolate wrapped in a corn husk. (I think that's what it was wrapped in) It was very good.
The service can be a little bit slow. Especially at the bar area. Take that into consideration if you're on a time crunch.
