  • Was one of the few companies willing to go on the roof and snake a camera down my sewer vent to find the source of a persistent clog. Their main competitor - a company that starts with an "R" and has rooter in the name - flat out refused me. The roof was the only access I had to my drain pipes, since I didn't have a sewer cleanout located on the ground, and I didn't want anyone to pull up my new toilet which had *just* been installed a month ago. (The toilet install was quite another ordeal - uneven floor, cracked flange, etc. Hence my refusal to let anyone pull it.) Anyway, John showed up sporting an awesome hat and a friendly personality, climbed on the roof with his camera and diagnosed my problem rather quickly. Turns out I have a segment of corroded, root infested iron pipe that keeps snagging toilet paper and goop and blocking up my main. This would explain why multiple snaking attempts on my part would quickly fail within the week. John recommended I replace the corroded iron with an abs or pvc sewer clean out, lest the clogs continue. John marked the spot where the iron bit was and where my main line exited the house and entered my septic tank. I was also given a nice little video of my pipe innards complete with John narrating the details of what was being recorded. This will prove extremely useful as I now go outside to dig my sewer main up and replace the corroded iron part. Thanks!
