  • We (my wife and I) bought two Foo Dogs (Shi Shi Dogs) from this store approx a week ago. They were delivered today and placed per our specification without any problems. The store owner Justin is polite and accommodating (we texted throughout the deal as I had lots of questions and he answered them all patiently), and the two guys who showed up for delivery were polite and well-mannered. They showed up a few minutes early, which is rathe unusual for things like this. Everything went well. That was the overview. Nitty-gritty details are as follows. These are expensive statues ($2,800 total including everything). As I was born/raised in a 3rd-world country, paying that amount well in advance before the delivery sounded crazy to me. Bait-and-switch tactics were (and are still) very common in my previous country. Here in the U.S, too, a bait-and-switch tactic happened at Costco just last year for Black Friday deals: Buy a 4K TV set now for $4,000 (before Black Friday) and once Black Friday comes, we'll give you $1,500 back because those TV models would be on huge sale! When I went back to Costco after Black Friday, they said, "Oh, no, it's a different model that's on sale." I couldn't quite believe that Costco was doing that!!!! I immediately returned the TV set and the only thing the Costco guys cared about was, "Did you open it? If you opened it, we would not be able to put it back on the floor." Could not quite believe it was Costco who was doing this!!!! Back to the Shi Shi Dogs. My wife thought I was crazy that I was thinking they would deliver different Shi Shi Dogs from the ones we saw. My friends thought I was paranoid. It's the U.S.A. here and now. The Foo Dogs are here as we saw them when we decided to buy them. They are the best looking Shi Shi Dogs we had ever seen and are worth every penny. The lesser ones we saw in Hong Kong were far more expensive (not counting the shipping cost!). Thank you Justin for your business (and your patience). Thank you to those two delivery guys (who look more like computer programmers) who were just so polite. We are happy customers.
