| - My experience with Ventano's started the day before when I called to make a reservation. A male by the name of Adam answered the phone and took my reservation. He was very polite and helpful. I explained it was my wife and I's anniversary and I heard they had an amazing view. He promised the view and took down it was our anniversary.
I must say Ventano's is a different venue than I was used to. It is a large stand-alone restaurant with a separate bar, situated by itself with an incredible view of the Las Vegas Strip and sunset. We drove 40 minutes to try Ventano's and the view alone was worth it.
It was 6 pm on a Friday night, the dining area was busy and three hostesses greeted us cheerfully. They said congratulations on your anniversary and gave us the option of a fabulous booth by the window with the view or patio dining with the view, my wife chose the booth inside.
I should also mention there is a full bar with video poker machines to the right as you enter. You might miss it because it is closed off by a glass door and you can't see it from the restaurant. Quite interesting.
The theme of the dining area is very Italian indeed. It is well decorated and rather large. Now, we did not know going in how fancy it actually was, I can say there isn't much of a dress code and it is kid friendly. You can eat Ventano's dressed casually if you like. This does not take away from the service though. The service makes it feel like fine dining.
Our server's name was Danielle. Danielle was very helpful and quite nice. She was a pleasure to have as a server. With her help we chose these wonderful "rice balls" for an appetizer, I don't remember their Italian name now. I had a Sierra Nevada Beer Camp IPA which they had on draft, followed by a glass of red wine which Danielle recommended. Very pleased with both. They bring you out bread sticks in a paper bag with oil and vinegar, these are dangerously good.
The wife and I ordered the classics, a Chicken Parm and an Eggplant Parm. Her Chicken Parm was perfect and my Eggplant Parm might have been the best I have had in Vegas. It was plated very uniquely and the sauce, cheese, breading and thickness of the eggplant was perfect. All the portion sizes were massive.
For dessert we had the Creme Brûlée which came highly recommended and met the recommendation with ease. We enjoyed the view throughout the sunset and as we sat for almost two hours we were never rushed or made to wait. The staff played off our pace perfectly.
In summary, the quality of the food for the price is unequaled, it is not overly fancy, so if that is what you want this isn't the place. I can tell you the long drive was well worth it and we will be back. We have a new favorite Italian spot.
