After stopping in Etobicoke for some business, I decided to go down the road to sherway gardens, where I've heard lots about but still have not visited. They tell me it's a 'etobicoke yorkdale' but I beg to differ.. I found this mall to be very bland, boring and easy to get lost in.
But let's start with the good stuff-
the sporting life, although so extra, is decorated so extravagantly.. I feel like I'm heading to dinner after skiing at a resort! The mall is extremely clean and it's a large place. New sak's fifth avenue is always good, although it reminded me of a failed holt's with even more pretentious sales associates.. Food central is hella large AND clean. Definitely a gorgeous food court but with very typical food options.. cool.. Mcds.. Amaya.. Timmies.. Thai express.. *yawn*.. it also lacked vegan options (shame, thought culture's got my back but everything has dairy)
The bad stuff is mainly that this mall is so crisply clean that it seems.. abandoned. There were barely anyone in the stores and when glancing in, I saw loads of sales associates looking bored out of their mind inside. Who would want to approach that? There are repeats of stores (honey?? Twice?? What is honey?!) which made it easy to get lost. There wasn't any stores that caught my eye and nothing that I HAD to go into.. all the stores can be found in any other mall in the GTA.
Of course if you're close to sherway, go!! But if you're reading this from east GTA, wondering if you should make the trip just for this.. NO. ABORT MISSION.
