| - It should now be called AMC 14 as half the theatre closed down and is blocked off by a newly installed black wall.
I used to go here a lot when movies weren't 10 dollars (more like 6.50-7.50) and when they had some sort of arrangement with the neighboring restaurants and they let you bring in food, like coolers of it if you wanted to. I definitely took advantage of that, although I wouldn't have minded them restricting food because I don't think everyone appreciates having to smell wafts of eclectic mixes of cheap food while they're watching movies, especially the sensual scenes (unless food turns you on).
Eventually, they stopped allowing you to bring in food, which was a bummer, but not a big deal. What really bothered me is when they stopped letting you bring in drinks. At first I thought their reason was that they were worried about spilled drinks, but then I realized that they sell their own drinks, so that can't be it. What really confused me was when they made me throw out my bottled water, right in front of them. I was infuriated. Obviously, their only intention is to make you resort to buying THEIR food/drinks. The next time I went, I made sure to parade my water bottle openly, and when they asked me to dump it, I told them that it's "diabetes" water and I will have a seizure if I don't drink it. The usher was obviously embarrassed and didn't know what to say...so he let me through. Smart kid.
I wouldn't mind buying their popcorn if they didn't price it at close to $10. Everytime I walk in there, I have a near aneurysm thinking about the fact that it costs about 12cents to make a bag of popcorn, and they sell it at $6-$8.
