| - I'm a recent Las Vegas transplant and I was looking for a good place for Pho. I came to Yelp since I'm not familiar with restaurants yet and saw all the good reviews and comments about District One, so I decided to try this place. I was greeted warmly and was given the option of booth, table or bar since it was just myself. The waitress asked if I wanted to see the specials and took my drink order. The specials were actually on a small chalkboard which she kept propt up on the seat at the next table for me. Since I did come for Pho, I got the Pho Tai (ribeye) and the Surf Clams which were a daily special.
The Pho came out first, and in a much larger bowl than I've had in the past. You do get your money's worth for 7.99! No limes available, but the lemon gave it its own interesting flavor. I've only known Pho from the East Coast, and it pales in comparison to this bowl of heaven. Even the noodles were far better. The surf clam came out on its shell, with some garnishes and hot sauce. I'm not certain of the spice because I didn't ask, but it certainly packs a whallop. If you do not deal with spicy foods, I would suggest avoiding this (unfortunately.)
During dinner, three people came over to help. I'm not sure if it's an LV thing or not, but it felt like there isn't one person assigned to a table but rather everyone helps out. That's why I have the place 5 instead of just 4 stars. You help each other out, you help the customer out. Cheers.
