I grew up around this historic hotel so when it was time to come back for you dad's 80th bday party, this seemed like an obvious choice. Boy was I wrong.
The morning of the party, there was a sewage back up in both our rooms. By the time they figured out they had to move us to new rooms, we were late for the party. Their way of compensating us was to refund our resort fee for both rooms for a night. Then they gave us "free continental breakfast" but failed to mention it was only good until 9am and then we'd have to pay for Easter Brunch.
Several calls to management that day and days to follow fell on deaf ears. The GM returned a call after 5 attempts only to say the best way to reach him was by email. So I sent him an email that day. Neve heard back.
