| - I will say that I was pleased with the final result of the 3 room steam cleaning service that was provided. However, I was very displeased with the upsale tactics they attempted. Let me just say that my carpets look clean, there isn't a SINGLE stain throughout. The only reason I even wanted to get them professionally cleaned was because my yorkie had peed on the carpet near the front door a few times Though I did wash those spots by hand, I know there isn't a way to get it really clean without some sort of steam cleaning vacuum. So, I called for a carpet cleaning appointment, confirmed the service and the price of 49 over the phone. Once the tech arrived, he tried to say that we need a deep cleaning shampooing for 136. (He didn't even know I my dog had peed anywhere, and again, there are no stains ANYWHERE). I refused since that was more than double the cost I agreed to over the phone. He then tried to tell me that the high traffic areas would at least need the shampooing because even though "you cant see the dirt, its there and it still required special attention. He said he could give us a military discount, dropping the price to 122. I still said no. He then called his manager because he said he is not "authorized" to give any more discounts than that. He explained to the manager everything that happened, who then authorized him to do it for 99. At this point, I was terribly frustrated. I wanted my carpets steam cleaned for the price I saw and agreed to online and over the phone. He then continued to try to drop the price to 75, which I do believe was a good deal, however due to my frustration and the principal of the fact that they tried so hard to push more money out of me, I continued to decline until finally I guess they realized I wasn't budging. They did get the job done, but the heckling that occurred prior to that job being done was intensely frustrating.
