  • Rent at your own risk. Sure, it's cheap...but that is reflected in the service you'll receive from the management and maintenance staff. This complex has changed management more times than I thought possible in the 18 months I lived here. Chamberlain took over and then things started getting shady, including regularly charging me twice for taxes and/or miscellaneous charges like water/sewer/trash; signing a lease with a set monthly rate, and then later calling me to say that rent has increased "because management has changed" which I said was unacceptable, and then they later came at me with "the girl who let you sign your lease made a mistake", which was also unacceptable. The absolute worst thing was that I notified them I would be moving out a few days early and would drop off all keys. Spent an entire weekend cleaning the apartment from top to bottom and anticipated getting most of my deposit back. When it came in the mail, it was $250 less than what my deposit was. I called to ask about it. Part of the deposit was a $150 refundable pet deposit, and they said that since they changed management, they can no longer honor that deposit. Which sucked, but then I asked about the other $100 and they said I moved out late so that was a prorated rent. I was LIVID, considering I called and gave written notice I would be moving out early! I moved out FOUR (4) days early! A few more honorable mentions: - stray cats GALORE. I believe there's a tenant in the back who feeds them, so that perpetuates the problem. - Glendale PD frequently visits! - roaches...everywhere. All my neighbors complained about them but said that it's better to manage it yourself since they don't do anything except spray outside. - if you have a maintenance problem, you'll likely just be waiting...and waiting....and waiting... My heater did not work...would always smell like something caught on fire and trigger the smoke detector. Asked them to fix it but good thing I had lots of blankets. - Good luck trying to actually get someone in the office on the phone. Repeatedly got the automated message to try again later and/or leave a voicemail. But they won't return your calls. I would highly recommend to NOT rent from any property managed by Chamberlain.
