Service... it plays a HUGE part in whether I'll be coming back to an establishment or not and I'm happy to say that Little Nicky's is an A+ in this department. Definitely will be back to support this place.
I was curious about this place after reading a thread about the best doughnuts in town so I made a stop here one night after leaving work. I thought about ordering the doughnuts but my head told me not to (need to get some sort of discipline after the holiday food frenzy!) but I decided to order a tea latte instead. While waiting on my drink, I ask about the scones and he says that he'll throw it in on the house cuz they're closing soon and so I can just try it out. Sweet!! He asks me if the drink is for here or to go. It's to go... aren't you guys closing soon? Yep, he says in 5 mins but was wondering if I needed a place to sit. That was thoughtful! After a min or two, a drink appears on the counter in front of me and I grab it and boot it out the door and around the corner back to Queen St. I take a few sips on my walk and realize "heey.. this is coffee x_x" and I'm no coffee drinker (I get crazy jitters from coffee) but oh well, i'm on my way and I don't want to go back and say anything. I think to myself that perhaps I didn't clearly state I wanted tea latte and maybe they had heard just latte or something. I make it to just past the bus stop area when the guy at the counter shows up beside me saying "heey... excuse me.." . He came out to tell me it was coffee (turns out it was for a guy who was behind me) and that if I want to come back they've got the tea latte almost ready. I don't know, but this super service blows my mind and makes me happy to see that it actually exists.
On top of all this, the scone I ended up tasting was an apple cinnamon and I would 100% state that it's probably the best scone I've eaten, no lie. I'm not sure if they make their baked goods in store or if they bring it in from another bakery but it was amazing. The outside had a really great crispy texture to contrast with the soft scone inside. There were apple pieces throughout the scone, not overpowering but pretty delicately flavoured and a nice sweet cinnamon flavour on top.
