| - Thoroughly bad experience with both Right and Toyota Motor Credit.
I think they're related.
These two are the bad boys on the playground who while one sneaks up from behind, the other shoves you, causing you to topple over the sneaker-upper guy.
Only they don't stop there.
If you have a lease that's about to term and plan on buying the vehicle because the residual value was set so low you can't afford not to, plan on the following tag team tactics from Right and Toyota Motor Credit:
* At least three calls per day from Right beginning sixty days before your lease termination date, incessantly dogging you to return the car and buy a new one. You inform them of your intention to payoff the residual. They can't hear you.
* Frequently shouting at your wife; "DON"T ANSWER IT, IT"S THOSE FUCKERS AT RIGHT AGAIN!"
* Right teams up with Toyota Motor credit in some kind of tag team approach. Right stops calling, Toyota Motor Credit starts. They alternate calling every few days.
* You set TMC straight by informing them you're paying-off the residual and to please stop calling.
*TMC stops calling. Right starts calling again, asking you to return the car and not purchase the residual but rather, buy a new one.
*You receive at least one and upwards of three calls a day from Right salespeople, all making the same overture.
* TMC didn't quite understand you when you said you were going to payoff the residual; they ask when you're returning the car.
*You develop a nervous twitch.
*After many, many calls, you auto-assume it's either Right or TMC whenever the phone rings. You hastily pickup the phone, issuing a stern warning to the caller;
"FUCK-OFF AND STOP CALLING, WE AREN'T TURNING THE CAR IN,
WE'RE PAYING OFF THE RESIDUAL."
*It wasn't Right or TMC. It was the school nurse, responding curiously with; "I'm sorry, I must have the wrong number."
* You mail a check to TMC for the amount of the residual.
* TMC won't process the check because you forgot to include the odometer statement with the paperwork.
* TMC returns the check, failing to include the last digit of your street address. The
check gets lost in the mail. You have no idea the check wasn't received.
* TMC calls. They're demanding you return the car immediately, this as they report you delinquent to all three credit reporting agencies.
*You contact TMC, reminding them the lease was prepaid and they can't report you as delinquent. They don't know what you're talking about because their computer, the one with the lease contract, and the computer that returns checks to wrong addresses don't share information.
* A month goes by. TMC receives their returned check. Despite this, they call to tell you where to send a new check and demand you return the car at once. They send the first check back, only this time to the correct address.
* Right salesmen begin calling again, twice a day. They want to sell you a car, asking what you did with your lease.
* Your car is sitting in the driveway with no insurance. The insurance company informs you they can't insure a car that you don't own or lease since the term date has come and gone.
* You put two stop payments on both checks to TMC, then wire funds directly to TMC, finally concluding the purchase. This time, the odometer statement is never brought up.
* You call TMC customer service to report the entire debacle.
The CS rep informs you their 'system' is down.
I don't believe they have a fucking 'system'.
I believe they have one computer; a prehistoric Commodore 32k sitting in someone's basement somewhere.
The CS rep. responds with; "Oh really, well that's just terrible. We're so sorry you went through all this, thank you for choosing Toyota. Have I answered all your questions? Have a nice day."
*You put the gun down, concluding how shooting the phone will not solve anything.
* Your credit score just dropped thirty points.
RIght and TMC
Both your CEO's should be keynote speakers at next year's vacuum cleaner convention as you explain the logic behind building and selling cars and not manufacturing vacuum cleaners. An industry both of you would excel at since your suck-proficiency is greater than some black-hole, outer space vortex.
