  • I have not been a tenant of AZ Residential Management, but I entered negotiations with this company and my experience has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had. They manage a property that I was very interested in pursuing and they clearly stated on their listing, "NO PETS". When we visited the property, not only did the tenant own a cat, but the current tenant was also providing bowls of food on the property. Since I am allergic to cats, this was a concern to me but I pursued an application on this property anyways since I assumed that the company would be reasonable. During the initial correspondence with Sheree, she responded in ways that were rude to me and to my mother who is also my agent. Whether or not this was simply poor phrasing or a bad attitude by Sheree, we do not know. We managed to patch things up with Sheree and continued moving forward on the application. We did not do a thorough walk through on the apartment before submitting the application so I simply put "to be determined" on the request section of the application. After this time, we set up an appointment with the tenant again to do a thorough look at the property so we could place any requests. We received approval from the owner of the property and submitted a short list of requests that consisted of: -Deep Cleaning to remove the cat dandruff and the smell of cat including behind appliances and the air ducts (both of which were apparent in the property). -Cleaning of the outside of the property to remove cat hair that had accumulated during the previous tenant's stay. -Replacement of burnt out lightbulbs. -Service of Air Conditioner and other appliances to ensure they are in working condition for move-in. Since they clearly stated "NO PETS" on their listing, we simply assumed that they would be accommodating and understanding of my needs as someone who is allergic to cats. Sheree's response to our requests came off as rude and insulting. As is always true, the owner and management have the right to refuse any requests, but the quick change from pleasant interactions to rudeness was confusing and frustrating. I attempted to ease the tension and assure them that we still had every intention of continuing with the process, but their response was that they no longer wished to continue working with me and I should pursue other options. This whole experience has been insulting and a waste of time and money for me (40$ application fee). I'm glad that I have figured out how bad AZ Residential Management is before I had to lock myself in for 12 months with them. Furthermore, I have all of this documented in email and can provide this to anyone who would like proof of Sheree's rudeness and verification that all of this did indeed occur. In synopsis: We applied to live in a unit managed by this company, were approved, and then were told they did not want to work with us because they would not do the work necessary to make the unit liveable for me because of my allergies. And for the cherry on top, I was treated like crap throughout the whole process.
