  • Last night in Pittsburgh on a Sunday and we were walking the 'Square' to find dinner. Checked out the menu and got our appetites ready. The Mrs. and I couldn't decide so we shared 2 different entrees (one being the grilled chicken and dumplings and I ordered the pork tenderloin). We ordered fries and mac and cheese for our little one. He enjoyed the fries. They're definitely much better than Primanti's! The mac and cheese was a nice take on the traditional kid friendly item with corkscrew pasta in a creamy cheese sauce. Onto the good stuff, my pork tenderloin was heavenly for lack of a better description. Ok, it was tender and flavorful in a sweet potato purée. It was delicious to the last bite. My wife had ordered the grilled chicken and dumplings. That was light and delicious and was complemented with grilled carrots and peas. The flavor and seasoning of the chicken was spot on. I had asked for hot sauce. Both entrees didn't need any additional seasoning or condiments! For dessert we had the beignets with ice cream. It was made to order and a good complement to a great dinner. Service was friendly and on target. The food was brought out quickly. All of the waitstaff was friendly, attentive and on their game even though they were closing within the hour. We never felt rushed, and everything was timely. People watching on the square is a whole other thing to do while you dine.
