| - We chose this hotel specifically for the fact that a reservations agent said their pool was open in January during the dates that we wanted to stay. The agent lied.
There are no stupendously strong reasons to stay here. There are some friendly employees. The food that's not done in their restaurants, meaning food court franchises is the only reasonable cost alternative to captive Boyd Gaming- run restaurants, which are expensive, and otherwise meh. Room service isn't mind-numblingly expensive, but nearly so.
Our room was ok, but somewhat noisy, made worse by a large under-door gap. Sewer smells are in the bathroom, too, although there is a window to open. HVAC units are plentifully loud, and are in obvious need of maintenance. The WiFi, provided by Cox, is no faster than dial-up speed.
It's not tawdry, it's just not very good at all-- save the positive employee attitude on behalf of their service staff. Having stayed in thousands of hotels as I travel frequently, my recommendation based on experience says: I won't return-- poor value. It also is important to be able to get the NAME or ID of a reservation agent, so that when they lie through their teeth, you can deliver them up to front desk personnel. Somehow, I don't believe it would have done much good, but you never know. I'll pass. YMMV.
