in my advanced years, i like how this place has come about. long gone are the days of this strip of land being a piss filled alley leading to an even more piss filled parking lot filled with piss drunk yokles, like myself. how grown up this spot has become. very trendy with it's bourgeoisie cupcakes, irish themed kilted lasses, raw fish burritos and the visually ubiquitous, painfully slower than the 405, tourist trap, ferris wheel. the promenade offers an escape from the clinkety clanging of the casino floor and allows for a moment of "peace and quiet". foodie friendly, people watching friendly and i would go as far saying "kid friendly".
i'm usually only here for March Madness and St Paddy's. it definitely turns a little wild, but, more subdued then lifetimes past. even had kiddies in strollers traversing the crowd. the watering holes have lots of specials to entice all the passers by. really nice area to come to when you want to escape a little bit of the clinkety clanging.
