| - A few months ago, husband and I decided to try Twin Creeks for dinner based on Yelp recommendations, and the fact that we did not feel like driving very far. This review is based on that dinner experience, and I did not have any drinks except a glass of wine with dinner.
This was the first time I had ever stepped in the Silverton Casino, let also Twin Creeks, and I was surprised at how nice it was. The restaurant itself was pretty crowded, and I found the decor pleasant.
As others have said, the prices are pretty cheap. But, there are many other steakhouses in town that aren't that much more expensive than Twin Creeks, with insanely better food. Vic and Anthony's at the Golden Nugget and Mon Ami Gabi are both good examples of this.
My husband had the New York strip, and while he thought it was cooked well, the flavor was just okay for him. I agreed, but I am not a fan of New York cuts of steak. I wanted to try the surf and turf, or the fillet and lobster, which they had for a really cheap price of $50 with sides and salad. The salad was a fairly basic side salad, and the sides were forgettable. I ordered Mac and Cheese for my husband, which was very dry. He didn't like it at all. I had the sauteed broccolini which I found a bit too greasy. The fillet itself was probably one of the worst tasting cuts of meat I have had in town, and I am normally a huge fan of fillets due to the tenderness. While it was adequately tender and executed correctly, it just tasted such low quality that I found it inedible.
The star of the night, however, was the lobster, and I would come here again just for this. It makes me believe that maybe I should sample some of the other seafood dishes here eventually. With so many places in town serving the same thing, I am not sure if that will be anytime soon.
