This new Metropark is excellent. The property in terms of acreage is one of the largest Metroparks in Summit County, but the trail network is in its infancy. But I don't hold that against it because the park has only been open since May!
The parking lot is ample and the informational signage is prominent. Trail maps, trail marker explanations, lots of plaques with fun facts. After checking out the awesome nature center with the fanciest bathrooms of any park I have ever been to, we hiked the trail down through the ledges and wetlands and then the paved upper trail. Such a beautiful combination of cool glacier formations, pretty trees, lush wetlands, and open prairie.
If I were looking for a place to host a big family party, I'd look into renting the nature center and the surrounding pavilion. That it tops the lodge at Happy Days in Peninsula and the Seiberling Nature Realm in Akron is saying a lot about its beauty as a park facility!
