| - I absolutely have no idea why are they so famous. Their meatballs are blah...my mother makes them better. The rib eye my husband ordered was cold, not room temp but ice cold, no au jus either, (seriously) so thin and filled with fat that by the time we could see the steak it might have been the size of your palm. The sommelier was not happy (AND showed it) how rude of us that we did not order wine!.. we were having cocktails! He quickly turned around showing us his disdain with a sour look. The little lamp on the famous 'jar', was totally torn to pieces, the waiter was clueless. The table was way too tight for a party of 4, I felt I was at a taco bell, the tables that are inside the booths have no space at all, and the restaurant was not full. They could have given us a better seating area. The person that showed us to our table was not happy that we requested another spot, so then she placed us in a worse location. This was 12/26/16 I felt bad because my sister paid for this outrageously expensive dinner (reminded me of buca di beppo) which I was invited once, saw the food, tasted something filled with red sauce and left. Nothing was notable, not a thing, not the heavy handed sauce on my pasta, nor my nephew's seafood salad that was the size of a tapas dish. I was wondering about the food in this place...how come I had better food in a smaller unknown restaurants in Rome/Venice/Capri/and Florence? And also here in the US! What a shame.
