  • Metropolitan Coffee is in the midst of a soft opening. The place is absolutely gorgeous. So much attention to detail in the style, look, vibe. The staff was friendly and outgoing and eager to please. The areas where I am sure they will continue to grow and develop are in the food and beverage area. I like so many that will come in are used to ordering in Starbucks lingo.. I know unfair to them but that's what so many of us know. My husband and I wanted a hot mocha style drink and we were encouraged to order a latte with mocha syrup. I ordered a small and he a large, we both ordered whipped cream on top. We watched as the drinks were made and whip cream applied. I honestly believe I got as much mocha in my drink as he did, he just got more whipped cream. The drinks were slightly bitter so I had to add some simple syrup on the way out. Food offerings in the case when we arrived at approximately 10:45 seemed to be limited to a couple of streusel muffins, again hopefully that area will be expanded. I'm not in this area that often but know they will be a big hit with the neighborhood. I look forward to returning to try them out again.
