This place doesn't quite live up to the hype for me. The actual restaurant is a beautiful restoration of an old house and is very spacious and comfortable.
The service: we ordered cocktails right away and didn't get them for about 15 minutes and they came right before our first course. I think you should bring out cocktails immediately especially when our first course is raw fish and we don't wanna be sipping on strong bourbon - based drinks. Also, my mother ordered two items while the rest of us four. Our waitress brought out my mom's food immediately so she was stuck watching us eat the rest of the time. At least ask us what we want to do. The server was also pretty cold and uninviting to us.
The food: the raw fish first course was very good. We shared the ahi, yellowtail and albacore. The cheeses were probably the highlight of the meal. Burrata, Burricotto, and the Mozzarella were all delicious and the portions were huge. I was disappointed by the rest of the food, however. Everything was extremely rich and salty. It's not difficult to load up a plate if polenta and pork belly with flavor. The difficulty is making it subtle. I don't think this restaurant has pulled that off whatsoever.
I'd probably give this place three stars if it was more expensive or if the portions smaller but it really isn't very expensive for the portions you get.
