  • Upfront, I would say avoid this gym unless you live really close to it or there aren't any better options within a reasonable drive. EOS is always jam packed and it has poorly maintained or out right outdated equipment. I get that the staff probably does what they can, and I largely think that it falls on the shoulders of the clients here. One of the positive things that I want to highlight is the variety of equipment they have here. You're generally going to find something you want to do be it free weights, machines, or simple plyometric activities. And they have a heavy bag, which isn't something I've seen in a lot of places. While all this stuff is really cool, I can't say that it out weighs my larger concerns with this gym. First, this place has a lot of outdated equipment. I specifically think of the large island of cable machines in the middle of the floor. Definitely have used better, and it's sometimes a hassle to find any of the grips you want to use for them. Their curling bars are also a little sketchy too, since people seem to constantly drop them. You don't want to be using one and the weights feel like they're going to fall off the side, that's not fun. If EOS was better about enforcing some basic gym policies this issue may be better. But when you charge like $10 a month for a membership and everybody and their grandma lifts there, I can see how it would get hard to handle. Lastly, I had a pretty bad experience with one of the desk workers. I've had a membership here for 6 years or so starting back when it was still Gold's, and I haven't been in here for a while. Went in because I started going with a friend and I hadn't been in in a few years. Try to get my guest in, and I find out that I need to pay an extra $5 a month for that. Not really a problem, but the desk worker had this slightly condescending attitude that I would ever ruin their shift with my insignificant problems. Oh well. So if you live really close and you want to have access to a lot of different equipment without the ability to use it since the place is so busy, by all means get a membership. But I can't wholeheartedly recommend EOS unless you fall into that incredibly narrow category.
